Biographical note: German emigre bookseller and publisher. Freidmann was born in Poznan, lived in Berlin from 1924 to 1936, and immigrated to Argentina in 1938. He settled in Buenos Aires, where he directed the Freier Deutscher Buchverlag (later Editorial Cosmopolitas), 1939-46, publishing liberal books for German-speaking people in the Americas.
